Movement of winds and storms on the sea surface causes shear stress on water and results in increasing water level. If this water surface level increase occurs with the maximum tidal situation at the same time, water surface level increase due to the storm will be intensified. Estimation of the storm surge in different conditions is important for determination of designing water level in coastal projects. In this part of the studies the storm surge in Persian Gulf has been simulated for a period of 25 years and the limiting values of the storm surge has been extracted for different return periods in 5 areas near important ports along the third phase of modeling and monitoring projects.
